Lighting at 8:32 PM, fires stay lit until 12:30 AM

All Full WaterFire installations light up over eighty braziers from Waterplace Park to Memorial/South Main Street Park on the below scheduled evenings. Lighting occurs shortly after sunset and the event continues until half past midnight.

Upcoming Events for July 7 to July 13

This week is filled with great events for parents, from the Rhode Island Historical Society Summer Walk Series to the Children’s Museum Night Out for “Big Kids Only”. It’s a great opportunity for parents to take their own Summer Break, and it’s followed by a full WaterFire lighting on Saturday. As always, if you have any upcoming events to suggest, feel free to drop us a line.

Yoga in the Park, 12:00pm

FREE, Five-week Yoga Class Starts Wednesday June 4th at noon. Please join the yoga lessons and find your center in the center of the beautiful urban oasis that is Roger Williams National Memorial. These classes will go every Wednesday from 12:00pm-1:00pm until June 30th. Yoga is known to keep you fit, and what better way to benefit from that than with your entire community on a lovely summer day in the park?

Friday, July 11th

Camelot, 7:30pm

The Theatre Company of Rhode Island has the mission of bring quality theatrical productions to Northern Rhode Island, and making theatre more accessible to actors.  For a portion of the month of July, the Theatre Company of RI will be presenting the musical Camelot. You can enjoy this Arthurian tale July 11-13th and 18-20th.

Saturday, July 12th

“Within Providence”: Free Public Mural Painting, 12:00pm

Within Providence is The Providence Rink’s newest art installation: a free public mural painting! It will be presented with featured sound installation “Transit Lines” on Saturday, July 12th starting at 12:00 noon through 10:00pm. This interactive art installation is created by The Studios at Unit 2.

The WaterFire Arts Festival Plaza, 6:00pm

WaterFire Providence and Bryce Studio are pleased to announce that the Arts Festival Plaza will return for the 2014 WaterFire Providence season. Located on Washington Street in the heart of the WaterFire installation, the Arts Festival Plaza is a showcase for local artists and crafts-people. From photography and sculpture, paintings and hand-crafted ceramics, to jewelry and specialty textiles, the WaterFire Arts Festival Plaza features a wide range of locally crafted artisan wares to exhibit for sale to WaterFire’s visitors.

Downtown Sundown Concert Series, 7:00pm

Hear In Rhode Island and Roger Williams National Memorial will present several evenings of music featuring local singer-songwriters as part of the Downtown Sundown Series. Experience an “outdoor coffeehouse”. Performers on July 12th include Kala Farnham, Heather Rose, Kristen and J, and Rank Strangers.

PLAY ON!, 7:00pm

PLAY ON! Gather your friends for a playful night out at Providence Children’s Museum – no kids allowed!

WaterFire Full Lighting, 8:21pm

Fidelity Investments will host a WaterFire Providence event on Saturday, July 12th 2014. The sun sets at 8:21 PM, and the lighting will take place accordingly. The event will end shortly after midnight.

Sunday, July 13th

Opera in the Park, 5:00pm

The Sunday “Opera in the Park” series will be held at Hopkins Park at the intersection of Branch Avenue & Charles Street in Providence, RI. Hopkins Park provides a great venue with plenty of room for families to enjoy a free concert. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy the music! Sure to be a great, fun-filled event for the whole family.
