Armory Farmers Market: 3:30 p.m. The market is located at the corner of Parade and Hudson Streets in Providence.

Burnside Music Series: 4:30 p.m. Each and every Thursday, July 9-September 10, the Trinity Beer Garden will open for business at 4:30 pm. Mill about and sip sangria to the melodious sounds of genius DJs from 4:30-6, and enjoy live music from 6-7.

TIGER, TIGER – NewportFILM Outdoors + Green Screen 6:00 p.m. Join us at the Norman Bird Sanctuary for a screening of TIGER, TIGER, a visionary documentary about the survival of a man dedicating his life to saving an endangered species.You may opt to purchase a ticket to the pre-party ($30) or just come for the screening ($5 suggested donation).

Movies on the Block: 7:30 p.m. The city’s only outdoor movie theatre is back for another season! Join us every Thursday from June 4th to September 24th at Grant’s Block for night of watching great movies under the stars in the heart of Providence. Movie September 3: Gangs of New York

Cooking with Wine Cooking Class: 6:30 p.m. Come cook with us and enjoy as well as use our own home made red and white wine in the process! On the menu: White Wine Risotto, Carrot Osso Buco, Red-Wine Marinated Fried Chicken with Onions, Oven-Poached Salmon Steaks with Mustard Dill Sauce and Poached Pears.

Tom Cotter From America’s Got Talent: 8:00 p.m. Comedy Connection of Rhode Island will be hosting Tom Cotter who finished in second place in 2012 on America’s Got Talent.

Saturday, September 5

Broad St. Farmers Market: 8:00 a.m. Located at 807 Broad Street in Providence.

Rhode Island’s Chinese Dragon Boat Races & Taiwan Day Festival: 8:00 a.m. This family-friendly event is FREE and will showcase a handful of the area’s best food trucks and vendors. Join the thousands who attend each year for great competition, fun and excitement, and to learn a little bit more about Chinese culture.

Hope St. Farmers Market: 9:00 a.m. Located at 1059 Hope Street in Providence.

Matthew King: Paintings from the 1970s Opening Reception 6:00 p.m. In his upcoming solo-exhibition, Paintings from the 1970’s, Matthew King presents a range of shaped-panels heavily masked with weighted geometrics and found iconic imagery. Stemming from a structured internal system, the artist paints dizzying patterns in high-contrast color palettes.

Atlantic Sun Concert 8:00 p.m. Please join us on Saturday, September 5 at the Jamestown Arts Center for a concert by local indie/alt rock band band, Atlantic Sun, formed at North Kingstown High School in the spring of 2015.

Sunday, September 6

Nature Discovery: Pond Edition 1:00 p.m. Our education staff will share a rare opportunity for the public to use dip nets in our protected pond. Discover tadpoles, dragonfly nymphs, aquatic macroinvertebrates, and sunning painted turtles.

RI Philharmonic Summer Pops 6:00 p.m. RI Philharmonic Orchestra presents its Summer Pops Concerts. All concerts are free of charge and open to the public.
