East Providence Fireworks – Sunday, July 3rd, 2016
Pierce Memorial Stadium, 6 PM to 10 PM
Governor John A. Notte Jr. Park, 6 PM to 9 PM
North Providence will be hosting a Fourth of July party on Sunday, July 3rd. The food court and entertainment will occur from 6 to 9 PM, followed by a fireworks showcase. Rain date is July 5.
Bike Parade, Music, and Fireworks – Monday, July 4th, 2016
India Point Park, 4:30 PM to 10 PM
The City of Providence will be hosting their Independence Day Celebration on July 4th! Highlights include: Circus Dynamics, The Rhode Island Black Storytellers, puppeteer Marc Kohler, FoodTrucksIn.com, K-Rob Foundation. Bike parade starts at 6:30 and goes throughout downtown Providence. Latin Rockers Santa Mamba preform at 8 p.m., and fireworks over Narragansett Bay occur at 9:15 p.m. A surprise guest will be performing on the main stage immediately after! Rain date is July 5.

PVD Ghost Tours – Thursday, June 30th-Monday, July 4th, 2016
Prospect Terrace Park – 8 PM to 9:30 PM
Providence Ghost Tours are back for the summer. Join a lantern-led tour for a chilling walk through the darkened streets of the historic East Side of Providence. Listen to the stories about Providence’s haunted past!
Birds from Down Under – Thursday, June 30th, 2016
Roger Williams Park Zoo, 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM
Take a trip to Roger Williams Zoo to visit with more than 450 bird species native to Australia, including grass parakeets, cockatiels and various other parrot species. Each visitor will receive a seed stick and is free to feed the exotic birds while engaging in conversation about their habitats and the environmental challenges they face. Admission is an additional $3 to zoo admission.

Spring Weekend Harbor Seal Encounters – Thursday, June 30th; Saturday, July 1th; Sunday, July 3rd at 2 PM
Giraffe Feedings – Daily 11:30 to 12 PM
People of all ages are welcome to Roger Williams Zoo for animal feedings! Giraffe feedings take place daily, while seal feedings are offered on the weekends in the spring. Standard zoo admission to attend giraffe feedings, but please RSVP. Seal Encounters are $20 for members, and $25 for non-members.
Food Truck Friday – Friday, July 1st, 2016
Carousel Village at Roger Williams Park, 5 PM to 8 PM
People of all ages will delight in “Food Truck Friday” held at Carousel Park in Roger Williams Park! From 5 to 8 PM, local food trucks will be open for dinner while customers enjoy live music and other activities. Pony rides will be offered, in addition to Hasbro’s Boundless Playground and the park carousel being open for use. There will also be a beer garden for the adults to enjoy while they take in the beautiful scenery. There is no cost for entry, but pony/carousel rides and food/beverage will be an additional cost.

Portals: The History of the Future Exhibition – Thursday, June 30th & Friday, July 1st, 2016
Providence Public Library – 12:30 PM to 5:30 PM
The Providence Public Library is offering a new exhibition called “Portals: The History of the Future“, which will “highlight the material trails left by the people of the past as they looked to the future.” Visitors will be able to take a look at what the future looked like to our predecessors, and how it varies greatly from the reality we live in today. Admission is free for all ages.
All of Everything: Todd Oldham Fashion – Thursday, June 30th – Sunday, July 1st, 2016
Rhode Island School of Design Museum, 10 AM to 5 PM
The “All of Everything” exhibition features original designs by the talented Todd Oldham. His creative designs, well known embellishment work, superb craftsmanship, and unique flair dominated fashion in the 1990s. From a Swarovski crystal-encrusted ensemble to a Pantone non-repeating print design, this exhibition offers 65 complete ensembles in a wide variety of styles, all labors of Oldham’s “intensive design process” and attention to detail. Families are invited to explore and play at Providence Children’s Museum free of charge! The museum will be free on Friday evenings from 5 PM to 8 PM, sponsored by the Metlife Foundation.
Imagination Playground – Friday, July 1st, 2016
Providence Children’s Museum, 11 AM to 2 PM
Children are invited to come play at Imagination Playground with large blue foam blocks, wheels, spools, tubes and a variety of loose parts. Bring your imagination to life at Providence Children’s Museum every Friday between July 1st and August 26th!

The American Band – Thursday, June 30th, 2016
John Brown House Museum, Concert starts at 6:30
The American Band will be preforming on the lawn at the John Brown House Museum this weekend! The American Band is comprised of 50 local adult musicians from Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut. Dating back to 1837, the American Band is not only one of the oldest bands in American History, but also one of the most diverse with a versatile repertoire. This event is free for members of RIHS (RI Historical Society) and children under 12. Admission for adults is $10. Visit their website for details about inclement weather.

Golden Era Strikes Back, a tribute to 90’s hip hop, will be at Lupo’s this Friday. The Mallett Brothers Band perform The Met this Friday! The band, originally from Maine, crosses the sounds of country, rock and roll, Americana and “alt-country” genres. They released their fourth studio album entitled Lights Along the River in 2015. AS220‘s Live Bait is celebrating their eight-year anniversary with “Fresh Starts and New Beginnings” this Friday at 95 Empire Black Box. Guests are invited to come to the event and put their name in a fishbowl. When their name is called, they are invited to get up on stage and share their story about their new beginning — no note, no rants — for six minutes. Come to enjoy stories about fresh starts and some anniversary cake! Tickets are $7. No reservations taken.
