PeaceFest RI

Come to Peace Fest RI, the highlight of the RI Month of Peace, and join the global celebration of peace on September 19, 2015 in Burnside Park and Kennedy Plaza, Providence. Peace Fest 1:00PM There will be activities for children and adults to enjoy that celebrate peace; Peace Flags , Peace Pinwheels, Peace Cranes, tie-dye and more. A number of RI’s hard-working nonprofits and community organizations will provide information and fun activities. There also be a large interactive art project with Cathren Housley, rolling puppet machines with artist Dan Butterworth, food trucks, and other entertainment. Peace Flash Mob 3:00PM Dances (Four Amazing Dancers are choreographing a flash mob that will take place in Burnside Park and Kennedy Plaza: Sokeo Ros – hip hop; Nellie Guerriero – Zumba style; Nita Trivedi — Bollywood style; and Rachel Balaban- closing Peace Dance- which we all can dance together. Peace Walk 3:30PM The Peace Walk has been the traditional ending to our Peace Day festivities for several years. Led by interfaith clergy, we all walk slowly and in silence, each step a step for peace. At the end of the Walk, we close Peace Day with interfaith prayers for peace.
