RWP Zoo’s annual Earth Day celebration, provides family fun during Rhode Island’s April school vacation week.

Every year, in honor of Earth Day, Roger Williams Park Zoo hosts Party for the Planet, a full week of fun for families to share. This year’s event will celebrate the importance of conservation and our environment, represented at the core of the mission at Roger Williams Park Zoo. The emphasis will be on activities, demonstrations and performances that families will enjoy.

Each day, guests will enjoy special events, programming highlighting conservation, and the environment. On Monday, guests may visit local vendors and learn about our local food system. Tuesday will be a day to discover the value of our natural resources and conservation. Wednesday will be a terrific day to explore the great outdoors with hiking, biking and camping activities throughout the Zoo. Thursday everyone may unleash their inner artist with fun, and creative workshops. Friday, the last day of Party for the Planet – we can all celebrate Earth Day in dance party fashion with fun games and activities, including a drum circle, juggling lessons and more!

Every day, families will also experience interesting animal encounters with the Zoo’s education wild animal ambassadors, entertainment, games, and music, as well as special “Keeper Talks” to learn more from the zookeepers about exhibit animals.

Party for the Planet activities run from 10 am to 4:00 pm each day and are included with Zoo admission. For more information about this event visit rwpzoo.org.

Roger Williams Park Zoo, one of the oldest in the nation, is Rhode Island’s number one outdoor family and tourist attraction and is also a leader in conservation efforts undertaken by a zoo of its size.
