Artists of the Jewelry District

Event Details

This event finished on 22 July 2016

Artists of the Jewelry District will feature the works of husband and wife artists Milo Winter and Margery Fischer-Winter, who live and work in the Jewelry District.

Margery is a textile artist who received a bachelor’s and master’s degree from RISD. Displayed in her work are representations of graffiti, crumbling facades, excavations, light and shadows, obtuse angles, linear patches and evidences of those who wander through this maze.

Milo also received a bachelor’s degree from RISD and a master’s degree from the University of Oregon. Like his wife, Milo is drawn to urban locales for his inspiration, specifically sites on the edges of the city, industrial ruins and derelict spaces where imagination can merge with looking. He will be displaying recent paintings at the show as well as some of his older sculptural works.

The show will run from June 8 – July 22. An opening reception will be held on Friday, June 10, from 5-9 p.m. Regular gallery hours are WednesdayFriday, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
