Brown University/Trinity Rep MFA Programs present scenes from Much Ado About Nothing and Twelfth Night or What You Will.

The Brown University/Trinity Rep MFA Programs presents scenes from two of Shakespeare’s wittiest comedies, Much Ado About Nothing, directed by Flordelino Lagundino (’15) and Twelfth Night or What You Will, directed by Dan Rogers (’15).

Full of hilarity and compassion, Much Ado About Nothing follows the epic journey of human transformation, the power of understanding, and the ultimate battle for true love.   Just home from war, young nobleman Claudio sweeps lovely Hero off her feet and proposes marriage.  As the young lover’s relationship blossoms, a “merry war” of wits is sparked between fellow soldier, Benedick and Beatrice.  Just when happily ever after seems within reach for these two couples, the tale takes a twisted turn of fate.

Twelfth Night or What You Will takes you on a rollercoaster of unexpected turns and confirms that love is so much more than meets the eye.Duke Orsino is in love with Olivia, who likes Cesario who is actually Viola in disguise, who is really in love with Duke Orsino who thinks she’s a man.  As the confusion and entanglement of love persists between the young web of lovers, this tale takes another hilarious unexpected turn.

The cast features second-year MFA acting students Devon Caraway, Uche Elueze, Britt Faulkner, Billy Finn, Shelley Fort, Elise Hudson, Ralph Adriel Johnson , Michael Jennings Mahoney, Ian McNeely, Sophie Netanel, Andrew Polec, Marina Shay, Whitney White, and Max Wolkowitz .

 The Brown University/Trinity Rep MFA Programs provides a three-year professional training program for eighteen students under the auspices of an Ivy League University and Rhode Island’s Tony Award-winning theater company. Brown University’s Department of Theatre, Speech and Dance is internationally recognized for the quality of its faculty and instruction. Trinity Rep, with its deep tradition of resident artists, provides powerful artistic assets and creates a firm foundation for a new generation of theater artists.

  • The Trinity Rep Wagon will be processing over to Steeple Street at 1:30pm with much fanfare and jubilation.
  • 6:00pm – Twelfth Night or What You Will
  • 6:45pm – Much Ado About Nothing
  • 8:00pm – Twelfth Night or What You Will (encore performance)
  • 8:45pm – Much Ado About Nothing (encore performance)
