Burnside Park Summer Concert Series: Tyler-James Kelly + Jess Powers; Roz Raskin and the Ricecakes

Bring a blanket or grab one of our tables and chairs!  The 2013 Season, curated by Jess Powers of WaterFire Providence, features a wide range of genres. New England abounds with talented musicians, and Providence in particular has a wealth of creativity right in our backyard.

Jess Powers, curator of the Burnside Park Thursday Music Series, has performed as part of the series for the past four years in a row, each year presenting a new project and continuing to grow as a musician as well as an event producer. In a new collaboration with Tyler-James Kelly of The Silks, Jess and Tyler-James combine rich harmonies and explore ways in which to blend their unique sound and style.

Roz Raskin and the Rice Cakes; Experimental Pop
Three musicians residing in Providence that enjoy making new, experimental, and fun music. The Rice Cakes have opened for Passion Pit, OK GO, Atmosphere, The Joy Formidable, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, the Low Anthem, Tera Melos, Andrew WK,and were the 2012 WBRU Rock Hunt Winners

In partnership with Greater Kennedy Plaza, Downtown Parks Department, and WaterFire, the Burnside Park Beer Garden Music Series takes place by the fountain in the park and will run every Thursday through September 5. The Beer garden is open from 4:30 – 7:30pm with music from 5:30 -7pm. In addition to great local music, there are lawn games, local beer served by Trinity Brewhouse, and delicious offerings from local food trucks. This is a free, family-friendly event for all ages!  Discount Parking at the Biltmore Garage, 51 Washington Street, is available from 5pm to 8pm, tickets will be validated at Burnside Park.
