Indowncity Providence is once again planning a special day of complimentary holiday activities on Saturday, December 5 from 10am – 6pm. Holiday fun will take over Grant’s Block and Aurora as we #CelebrateDowncity.
Spend the whole day in Downcity Providence and tackle that holiday shopping list. Along with all your favorite, independently owned businesses in the neighborhood, this year we’ve teamed up with theProvidence Flea to bring you a very special Holiday Mini-Flea taking place at Aurora Providence, at 276 Westminster Street from 10am – 4pm. Stop in to shop from their carefully curated vendors, selling a unique combination of handmade and vintage goods. Find the perfect gift for someone on your list, and adults can enjoy libations like Bloody Marys and seasonal cocktails from the Aurora bar.
Out in Grant’s Block, Santa Claus will be making a special visit to Downcity at noon to pose for complimentary photos. Get a free Polaroid photo to add to your collection. Santa will also be handing out complimentary Shop Small tote bags while supplies last, to help you haul home your finds.
Stop for a snack at one of the food trucks parked on site. Poco Loco Tacos, Championship Melt and O’Creperie will all be on site, as well as one of Providence’s newest trucks, Friskie Fries. Small Point Café will also be on site with hot drinks to warm you up and there will be an assortment of food vendors with holiday favorites such as roasted chestnuts, kettle corn and waffles on a stick.
On the Grant’s Block stage, What Cheer Records will be spinning holiday vinyl and will MC live music by local bands playing holiday faves. When the sun sets, Movies on the Block will be screening a special holiday movie.
