PENDRAGONPendragon photo
New England has long had a rich tradition of Celtic-inspired music. Looking forward to celebrating their 33rd anniversary in 2016, the Rhode Island-based ensemble Pendragon has embraced that tradition and created a timeless sound of its own, performing roots music with an unmistakable contemporary edge. Pendragon’s music celebrates the lives and lore of generations of New Englanders who brought traditions from Ireland, Scotland, French Canada and other distant shores to the banks of the Blackstone River.

Pendragon was voted Rhode Island’s Best Celtic Act in the 2005-2013 Motif Magazine’s Best Music Poll and was awarded Best World Music Act in the 2016 Motif Best Music Poll. Pendragon is comprised of award-winning step dancer and percussionist Kevin Doyle, Bob Drouin on fiddle and bouzouki; Russell Gusetti on guitar and concertina; Josh Kane on flute and whistles; and Mary Lee Partington on vocals and bodhran. Joining Pendragon will be Torrin Ryan, the 2013 All-Ireland Uilleann Pipes Slow Airs champion, also coming in third place overall at the annual competition held in Ireland. Erika Damiani, the Irish dance instructor at Blackstone River Theatre, will dance solo and with Kevin Doyle.
