Operation Holiday Cheer is a holiday care package initiative that supports Rhode Island service men and women deployed overseas. Donations are needed for care packages that will be assembled for Rhode Island service men and women who will spend the holidays away from home this year. Troops’ favorite items include beef jerky, tube socks, powdered drink mix, coffee syrup, AA and AAA batteries, moist wipes, hard candy and power bars. The collection drive is held on Saturday, November 22nd from 9 am – 1 pm at the Rhode Island National Guard Armory, 541 Airport Road in Warwick.
