Challenging, brutal, and hilarious, four woman of varying shapes and sizes sit in the waiting room of a liposuction clinic. The women explore their perceptions of body image and reveal their experiences of dealing with weight issues through monologues, short scenes, and schoolyard rhymes. From painful childhood memories to frustrations with the opposite sex, these experiences both haunt and empower these women as they imagine their way to a new vision of themselves as beautiful and whole.
The play was written by Madeleine George and directed by Kira Hawkridge. Exploring how we see our own bodies and how we visualize our own identity, this exhibit is sure to draw you in and make you think.
