The Providence Flea Market

Event Details

This event finished on 22 October 2017

Our juried, urban Flea launched in June 2013 and is held outdoors* in the summer and fall every Sunday, and indoors* in Winter and early Spring with unusual finds, art, vintage fashion and accessories, local crafts, curiosities, antique and refinished furniture, food trucks and carts, live music and more. This will be our 5th summer season, and we’re super-excited about it!

Suffice to say, we don’t consider ourselves a typical flea market. We’re more of an incubator/marketplace, inspired by the insanely popular, fun and  famous flea in Brooklyn, New York. We’re serving up a taste of vendors who embrace vintage as a lifestyle, together with a burgeoning maker community–both rich with talent, grit and promise. Our vendors are small- and micro-businesses in many cases using the Flea as a launchpad to grow, to meet their customers and to move on to the next level. Many of our vendors have  indeed outgrown  the Flea, and that’s just fine with us. In fact, we’re rooting for them.

Four years and 400 vendors later, you can find at the Providence Flea a treasure trove for vintage lovers, upcyclers and retro seekers, as well as those in search of all things handcrafted, handwrought and artisan-made. And that’s not even mentioning our farm-to-truck food vendors and purveyors in carts and under tents as well.  What you won’t find is anything mass-produced or licensed, or typically sold through groups, clubs, franchises or independent salespeople on a large scale.
