Event Details

The Roger Williams National Memorial is taking throw back Thursdays (#TBT) to a whole new level!

Thursday, February 19th from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, a letter, written by Roger Williams, will be on display at the memorials visitor center.

This letter from Williams to Gregory Dexter discussing the debate that developed in England and the colonies about censorship of the press and dissolving Parliament. Roger also expresses his concern over his wife’s wellbeing.

Thanks to the kind assistance from the Rhode Island Historical Society, the memorial will have a real bit of Roger on display. Come talk to a Ranger McNiff about this letter and Roger, grab a cup of coffee and enjoy.

This is one of five ‘throw WAY back Thursdays‘(#TBT) that they will be having at the Memorial from January through May.
