Roger Williams on Display

Roger Williams National Memorial

Event Details

It’s back! One of the most riveting and exciting things to happen at the Roger Williams National Memorial! They are bringing Roger back and taking throw back Thursdays (#TBT) to a whole new level!

Thursday January 21st from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, an original letter, written by Roger Williams, will be on display at the Roger Williams National Memorial visitor center at 282 North Main Street.

Roger Williams Letter
To the Town of Providence (January 1679/80) – this letter shows the consistent compassion Roger Williams had for his fellow citizens even during the bitter cold winter.

Thanks to the kind assistance from the Rhode Island Historical Society, the memorial will have a real bit of Roger on display. Transcripts of the letter will be available.

This is one of four ‘throw WAY back Thursdays‘ (#TBT) that they will be having at the Memorial from January through April. Come talk to a Ranger about this letter and Roger, grab a cup of coffee and come face to face with history.
