Prepare yourself for an industrial performance extravaganza. Tease out your hair, grab a lab coat, and put on some oversized goggles!
On October 25th the Steel Yard brings you Mad Science, our 9th Annual Halloween Iron Pour. The Iron Pour has been called one of Providence’s most impressive Halloween parties and you won’t want to miss it.
This year the Steel Yard’s Foundry Residents will partner with local iron artists, performers, students from numerous local universities and volunteers to bring the night to life. This family friendly event combines the sights and sounds of industry to transform the Steel Yard into a field of molten metal. The Show will combine sculptural iron pouring with live music from Alec K. Redfearn and the Eyesores and will highlight the natural and creative life of industrial art. There will be a hand-made bowl sale hosted by the Steel Yard’s Ceramics Residents, and a chance to see and purchase cast metal sculptures from the Steel Yard’s inaugural Iron Residency.
Cost: $10 General admission, children under 5 are free.
Gates will open to the public at 5pm and the theatrics are scheduled to begin at 7pm.
The Steel Yard’s 9th Annual Iron Pour is made possible by: Bullard Abrasives, Malloy Bio-diesel, the Foundry Associates, Holliston Sand, the Cumberland Foundry, the City of Providence Art Culture Tourism, the Headlight Hotel, and RISCA – Rhode Island State Council on the Arts.
We are looking for volunteers to work various stations at the event, so if you have interest in volunteering please contact volunteer@thesteelyard.org. Volunteers receive free entry to the event in exchange for 2 hours of service.
See you at the Iron Pour! Be sure to invite your friends.
