The Ocean State Summer Writing Conference offers all writers the opportunity to enjoy three days of lively interaction and instruction with local, national, and internationally acclaimed writers and teachers on URI’s picturesque Kingston Campus. Writers of all levels and experience will find master classes, craft sessions, workshops in fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and screenwriting; networking opportunities, and one-on-one consultations.
This year we have added craft sessions for young writers (age 12 – 18) and a family-friendly festival for an exciting afternoon.
Our keynote speakers are 2012 Pulitzer Prize winning poet Tracy K. Smith and fiction writer and New Yorker contributor Antonya Nelson. Saturday will feature a special reading from Gregory Pardlo, the 2015 Pulitzer Prize winner in poetry.
Registration fees for the full conference are modest, and Keynote events by Pulitzer-Prize winning writers are free and open to the public.
