~~~ THE MAN on the Piano:
Mark Taber is a lifelong Rhode Islander who grew up in East Providence. He started piano lessons (as he recalls) at about the age of five. He is well known, both as an artist and as a pianist, playing solo and with just about every club musician in town for the past 40 some years. He was a founding member of what was arguably Rhode Island’s most influential musical unit, Ken Lyon’s Tombstone Band.
The Poets:
Larry aka: Lawrence Krips is involved in Thunder and the Bird, reading his work accompanied by Stephanie Marisca playing the gong. His poetry has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize.
Maurice Mancini… we call him Mo’ / is an artist, sculpture & poet. His work has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize and read by poet Helen Burke on her radio program (ELFM radio ) in England.
Heather Sullivan is an active member of Ocean State Poet. Her work has appeared in numerous poetry journals. Her essay Compassion aired on Rhode Island’s National Public Radio’s This I Believe series, and she has recorded her poetry for Insight Radio for the visually impaired. Her most recent chapbook: These Onyx Hours was published by Finishing Line Press in 2014.
Lynnie Gobeille is one of the co-founders of The Origami Poems Project. Her work has been published in various poetry journals & heard on NPR & ELFM radio. Her collection: Life not quite Understood was published by Finishing Line Press in 2014.
