Since 2000, the Blackstone Valley Tourism Council has presented Rhode Island’s Chinese Dragon Boat Races & Taiwan Day Festival. This action-packed event consists of Taiwan-style dragon boat races for professional and amateur teams, along with many cultural and artistic events, and the always popular Chinese dumpling eating contest and watermelon eating contest. Once again this year, dragon boat teams will compete for over $15,000 in cash and prizes!
The 16th Annual Rhode Island Dragon Boat Races & Taiwan Day Festival will be held on Saturday September, 5th from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. at Festival Pier in Pawtucket*. This family-friendly event is FREE and will showcase a handful of the area’s best food trucks and vendors. Join the thousands who attend each year for great competition, fun and excitement, and to learn a little bit more about Chinese culture.
