With a dozen animated short films from women around the globe, including nine US premieres, Womanimation! is a showcase of woman in animation.
Film techniques vary from stop motion to computer animation to traditional hand drawn, and often a blending of styles to create fresh looks.
Themes run the gamut from confronting one’s inner demons in the dream world to exploring the wonders of the natural world, from dealing with loss of loved ones to forging new human connections.
The festival includes audience voting on their favorite films, DJ Madame B creating soundscapes from women around the world before and after screenings, and a reception following the final screening.
