WaterFire – Full Lighting Saturday, September, 22nd

Sunset time: 6:43pm

Special events at WaterFire this Saturday include Salute to Rhode Island Educators and Big Bang Science Fair.


Food Truck Friday at Roger Williams Zoo

Roger Williams Park Carousel Village will host a variety of food trucks and vendors on Friday, September 21st. Admission is free and there will be activities for children!

Ocean State Oyster Festival

The 4th Annual Ocean State Oyster Festival will be held Saturday, September 22nd at Riverwalk Park. Get your tickets in advance for $25 and $30 the day of. Festival is tented and will go on rain or shine!


Elmwood Studios Open House 

The shared design space of Nest Homeware, Oblique Studio, Studio Endo and Work-Shop will host their annual open house on Friday, September 21st. Get a behind the scenes look  of each workshop. Event is free and is part of Design Week RI put on by DESIGNxRI.

David Wiesner: Journeys in Visual Storytelling at RISD ISB Gallery 

RISD alum and current children’s book illustrator/writer David Wiesner will be featured at RISD’s Illustration Studies Building gallery from now through October 7th. The exhibit will be open until 10pm during WaterFire.

Good Design, Local Design: How Designers and Cities Can Support Each Other

This panel, held by The City of Providence Department of Art, Culture, and Tourism will discuss impacts of design-forward policies, design culture in Providence, and it’s effects on the community. It is September, 20th and will be $10 to attend.

First Juried Members Exhibition – Opening Reception 

Join the Rhode Island Center for Photographic Art for the opening of their First Juried Members Exhibition: Photography and Memory. The reception will be held Thursday, September 20th from 5-9 pm.


Providence Flea – Fall Market 

Join Providence Flea for their first market of the fall on Sunday, September 23rd from 10am-4pm. Vendors will be located on South Water Street in Downtown Providence.


Providence Kayak

Providence Kayak offers single and tandem rentals Saturdays and Sundays beginning at 10am. See the city from  a different perspective!


Smithsonian Museum Day: RISD Museum

RISD Museum will participate in the annual Smithsonian Museum Day on Saturday, September 22nd. Register through your email and receive free entry for two people. RISD will be open from 10am-5pm.
