In Celebration of 30 years since the founding of March as Women’s History Month, the URI Providence Campus is presenting the words and music of more than 30 women who have fought in the struggle for equal rights, equal pay, voting rights and who have broken glass ceilings. We include:  Abigail Adams, the Grimke Sisters, Sojourner Truth, Mary Church Terrell, Florence Kelly, Francis Perkins, Margaret Sanger, Eleanor Roosevelt, Dr. Rose Butler Brown, Fanny Lou Hammer, Rosa Parks, Marion Wright Edelman, Alice Walker, Coretta Scott King, Maya Angelou, bell hooks, Betty Freidan, Gloria Steinem, Angela Davis, Shirley Chisholm, Bella Abzug, Pat Schroeder, Sandra Day O’Connor, Wilma Mankiller, Judy Chicago, Geraldine Ferraro, Audre Lord, Lily Ledbetter, Kristen Gillibrand, Oprah Winfrey and Michelle Obama.

We are proud to shed light on issues raised over the last 240 years of this country’s history.
