ArtProv Gallery’s newest exhibit, “Grace and Gravity,” will open August 10 and run through September 25. It will feature the works of Deborah Baronas, who studied textile design and painting at the Rhode Island School of Design. Deborah often combines translucent overlays of textiles and glass with her drawings and paintings in order to animate the figures and abstract elements of water and air, inviting the viewer into the physical space.
At the exhibit, Deborah will be displaying paintings, drawings and interactive fabric installations from two of her new collections featuring swimmers and dancers, which represent a departure from her previous studies of work and culture.
ArtProv Gallery is located at 150 Chestnut Street in Providence. Regular gallery hours are Wednesday – Friday 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Saturday 12 – 4 p.m. An opening reception will be held Friday, August 12 from 5-9 p.m. The gallery will also be open late during Gallery Night Providence on August 18 and September 15 from 5 – 9 p.m.
