The mission of the Mixed Magic Theatre Exult Choir is to preserve and celebrate the great American tradition of gospel music. Each year since 2006 the choir has presented a concert event that features a collection of songs that include Negro spirituals, traditional hymns, and the gospel music that has influenced blues, rhythm and blues, and rock music. The concert also features selections from the world music genre including songs made popular by the Soweto Gospel Choir of South Africa. This year’s concert,Shakespeare in the Spirit, blends gospel music to scenes from Shakespeare and both soar to new and unique heights.
