This week we welcome visiting artist Cooper Holoweksi, a bi-lingual poetry reading at the RISD museum, Cocktails for a Cause with the Vanity Supper Club, the New Urban Arts Fundraiser, and the Pawtucket Wintertime Farmer’s Market! As always, if you know of any upcoming events, feel free to drop us a line.
Monday, April 7th
The Rhode Island School of Design is hosting artist Cooper Holoweski as he screens his video piece, Katabasis. The screening will be accompanied by a live score, played by three musicians. Katabasis is a 40-minute with sound that moves the viewer through an elaborately constructed virtual junkyard, built in the 3D modeling program, Sketchup. It explores themes of death, limbo, and rebirth.
Join the RISD Museum for a bilingual reading from the first comprehensive collection of prose poetry by Grzegorz Wróblewski, a painter and one of Poland’s leading contemporary writers. English versions will be read by Piotr Gwiazda.
Wednesday, April 9th
Come out from 6-10pm and support Friends of Homeless Animals at Vanity Supper Club. Your $15 donation gets you passed appetizers, door prizes, and music by Jeff Djjoint Kraus. Dress is casual. This event is hosted by David Leduc and Daniele Gautreau.
