Chopin Club at the Mary K. Hail Music Mansion

If you are in the mood for a little classical entertainment then we know you will love this performance by pianists Ann Sears and Linda Papatopoli, contralto Susan Allen, violist Paulinka de Rochemont, and violinist Sebastian Ruth perform works of Mendelssohn, Chopin, Schumann, Brahms and J.S. Bach.  This free concert is open to the public.

The Pawtucket Wintertime Farmers Market at the Hope Artiste Village

Looking for savory delights and fresh produce? Look no further. The Wintertime Farmers Market has fresh veggies, cheese, eggs and whole lot more brought to you from a variety local farms. The market is open weekly on Wednesdays from 4 – 7pm and Saturdays from 9 – 11am.

Opening reception for the Group Show at the Chazan Gallery at the Wheeler School

Including two and three dimensional works by seven local artists this show at The Wheeler School on Providence’s East Side is an excellent opportunity see some of the area’s local artist talent. Artists included in the gallery show are: Hannah Antalek, Harrison Bucy, Jenn Houle, Anne Rogers, Margaret Rogers and Jodi Stevens. The show runs through January 30th, 2014.

Emotional Release by Rubens Fogacci at Just Art Gallery in The Plant

Head on over to the West Side of Providence to see new paintings by Italian artist Rubens Fogacci, presented for the first time in the United States by Just Art Gallery in The Plant buildings on Valley Street from 5 – 8pm. Fogacci’s subjects range from human figures to surrealist portraits of historically famous people as well as mythological figures such as, the famous Neptune or Giuseppe Garibaldi. In most recent years, his figures favor everyday scenes as well as, still life environments while maintaing the infamous characteristics of his creations; that of the strongly marked lines, bright and lively colors.

Saturday, January 18th

Beethoven’s Second Performed by the RI Philharmonic Orchestra

The Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra, Larry Rachleff conducting, presents an evening of stunning nineteenth and twentieth century music. Performances will include, Beethoven’s Second Symphony; Ravel’s Piano Concerto for the Left Hand featuring the Philharmonic debut of Jean-Phillip Collard; and the Orchestra will perform Hindemith’s Mathis Der Maler.

‘Mericans Tribute to Providence Record Release Show

Local rockers, The ‘Mericans, will be celebrating the release of their new album A Tribute to Providence in true rock-star style be performing all 20 songs live at the Parlour in Providence. The ‘Mericans are an Experimental Americana Roots Rock band from Rhode Island led by former Purple Ivy Shadows singer/guitarist Chris Daltry who has been called a “visionary founding father of the rootsy rockers” by the Providence Phoenix.
