TIGER, TIGER – NewportFILM Outdoors + Green Screen 6:00 p.m. Join us at the Norman Bird Sanctuary for a screening of TIGER, TIGER, a visionary documentary about the survival of a man dedicating his life to saving an endangered species.You may opt to purchase a ticket to the pre-party ($30) or just come for the screening ($5 suggested donation).

Rhode Island’s Chinese Dragon Boat Races & Taiwan Day Festival: 8:00 a.m. This family-friendly event is FREE and will showcase a handful of the area’s best food trucks and vendors. Join the thousands who attend each year for great competition, fun and excitement, and to learn a little bit more about Chinese culture.

Matthew King: Paintings from the 1970s Opening Reception 6:00 p.m. In his upcoming solo-exhibition, Paintings from the 1970’s, Matthew King presents a range of shaped-panels heavily masked with weighted geometrics and found iconic imagery. Stemming from a structured internal system, the artist paints dizzying patterns in high-contrast color palettes.
Atlantic Sun Concert 8:00 p.m. Please join us on Saturday, September 5 at the Jamestown Arts Center for a concert by local indie/alt rock band band, Atlantic Sun, formed at North Kingstown High School in the spring of 2015.
