Sultans of Sax: The Sultans of Sax is an eight piece saxophone ensemble which plays a wide variety of classical and popular jazz music from the early 1900’s through today.  We are a unique musical ensemble dedicated to performing music from the vaudeville era and early jazz age, considered by many to be the “golden age” of the saxophone.  Many of our musical arrangements are the actual arrangements that were performed by travelling saxophone groups over 90 years ago. Virtually all members of the saxophone instrument family are represented in our group — from the mighty bass saxophone to the tiny sopranino to the uncommonly heard C melody saxophone.

Darkest of the Hillside Thickets: Hailing all the way from Vancouver, BC, just to perform at the Lovecraft Convention, Darkest of the Hillside Thickets is a rock band dedicated to promoting the literature of H.P. Lovecraft, the author who wrote of lost cities, tainted genealogy, alien gods, and that fabled tome, & The NecronomiCon. The Thickets haven’t been able to get their hands on the ancient spell book, but they have their own brand of corruption. They’re on a Lovecraft binge of madness, and they mean to take you with them. The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets have a reputation for entrancing and inciting their live audiences with their melodic blend of energetic punk and rock, while wearing graphic costumes that help bring their good-natured, yet macabre songs to life. Their latest project is “The Shadow Out of Tim” concept album, a re-imagining of Lovecraft’s short story “The Shadow Out of Time.” The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets live in Vancouver, Abbotsford, and Chilliwack.

Big Nazo Creature Band: Have you see the Big Nazo Creature Band perform? These local hometown freaky creatures are frequently seen around town at special events but seeing them perform on stage is a treat for everyone!  Check out the videos online for a sneak peak of the fun and mayham that will be experienced on the Steeple Street Stage!

Various performers from the SteamPunk Exhibition will also be performing on the Steeple Street Stage.
