PVD Ghost Tours Thursday, July 14th-Sunday, July 17th, 2016
Prospect Terrace Park – 8 PM to 9:30 PM

Providence Ghost Tours are back for the summer. Join a lantern-led tour for a chilling walk through the darkened streets of the historic East Side of Providence. Listen to the stories about Providence’s haunted past!

Birds from Down Under – Thursday, July 14th, 2016
Roger Williams Park Zoo, 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM

Take a trip to Roger Williams Zoo to visit with more than 450 bird species native to Australia, including grass parakeets, cockatiels and various other parrot species. Each visitor will receive a seed stick and is free to feed the exotic birds while engaging in conversation about their habitats and the environmental challenges they face. Admission is an additional $3 to zoo admission.

Spring Weekend Harbor Seal Encounters – Thursday, July 14th; Saturday, July 16th; Sunday, July 17th at 2 PM
Giraffe Feedings – Daily 11:30 to 12 PM

People of all ages are welcome to Roger Williams Zoo for animal feedings! Giraffe feedings take place daily, while seal feedings are offered on the weekends in the spring. Standard zoo admission to attend giraffe feedings, but please RSVP. Seal Encounters are $20 for members, and $25 for non-members.

Food Truck FridayFriday, July 15th, 2016
Carousel Village at Roger Williams Park, 5 PM to 8 PM

People of all ages will delight in “Food Truck Friday” held at Carousel Park in Roger Williams Park! From 5 to 8 PM, local food trucks will be open for dinner while customers enjoy live music and other activities. Pony rides will be offered, in addition to Hasbro’s Boundless Playground and the park carousel being open for use. There will also be a beer garden for the adults to enjoy while they take in the beautiful scenery. There is no cost for entry, but pony/carousel rides and food/beverage will be an additional cost.

Hope Street Farmers Market – Saturday, July 16th, 2016
Lippitt Park, 9 AM to 1 PM

Support local farms and vendors at the Hope Street Farmers Market! Come by to get your locally grown fruits and veggies, freshly caught seafood, just-baked bread, and so much more. The Hope Street Farmers Market runs every Saturday throughout the summer and fall, until October 26th. You can even get your bike tuned up while you shop!

Spatial Thinkers – Thursday, July 14th, 2016
Providence Children’s Museum, 10 AM to 3 PM

The Providence Children’s Museum invites kids to come explore, build, and play with their event, “Spatial Thinkers.” Bring your child to the Discovery Studio in PCM to experience space and design in a new way.

Bubble Blowout – Saturday, July 16th and Sunday, July 17th, 2016
Providence Children’s Museum, 11 AM to 2 PM

Providence Children’s Museum will be hosting “Bubble Blowout” this weekend, where kids are invited to the Museum’s Children’s Garden to explore with bubble-blowing and an array of tools.

Imagination PlaygroundFriday, July 15th, 2016
Providence Children’s Museum, 11 AM to 2 PM

Children are invited to come play at Imagination Playground with large  blue foam blocks, wheels, spools, tubes and a variety of loose parts. Bring your imagination to life at Providence Children’s Museum every Friday between July 1st and August 26th!


Portals: The History of the Future Exhibition Thursday, July 8th & Friday, July 9th, 2016
Providence Public Library – 12:30 PM to 5:30 PM

The Providence Public Library is offering a new exhibition called “Portals: The History of the Future“, which will “highlight the material trails left by the people of the past as they looked to the future.” Visitors will be able to take a look at what the future looked like to our predecessors, and how it varies greatly from the reality we live in today. Admission is free for all ages.

All of Everything: Todd Oldham FashionThursday, July 7th – Sunday, July 10th, 2016
Rhode Island School of Design Museum, 10 AM to 5 PM

The “All of Everything” exhibition features original designs by the talented Todd Oldham. His creative designs, well known embellishment work, superb craftsmanship, and unique flair dominated fashion in the 1990s. From a Swarovski crystal-encrusted ensemble to a Pantone non-repeating print design, this exhibition offers 65 complete ensembles in a wide variety of styles, all labors of Oldham’s “intensive design process” and attention to detail. Metlife Family Friday – Friday, July 8th, 2016
Providence Children’s Museum, 5 PM – 8 PM

Families are invited to explore and play at Providence Children’s Museum free of charge! The museum will be free on Friday evenings from 5 PM to 8 PM, sponsored by the Metlife Foundation.



WBRU Concert Series: Mainland with Eric and the Nothing – Friday, July 15th, 2016
WaterPlace Park, Show starts at 7 PM

WBRU proudly presents the 2016 Summer Concert Series! This week, Mainland and Eric and the Nothing preform at Waterplace Park in downtown Providence. Head down to see some of the nation’s best up-and-coming alternative rock artists. The WBRU concert series will take place every Friday night from July 8th to August 12th. Concerts are always free.

Minus the Bear, with Mothers – Friday, July 15th, 2016
Fête Music Hall, Show starts at 7 PM

Indie rockers Minus the Bear and Mothers are coming to Providence this weekend. Check out their show at Fête Music Hall this Friday! Tickets are $22 in advance and $25 day of show. All ages welcome. Tickets here.


Shakespeare en el Verano: Romeo and Juliet – Thursday, July 14th, 2016
Roger Williams Park, 6:30 PM

Trinity Rep and Rhode Island Latino Arts present Shakespeare en el Verano: Romeo and Juliet. This bilingual presentation of a classic Shakespeare tale is open to the public and appropriate for all ages. There is no need to reserve a ticket, but please arrive early to ensure your seat!

Movies on the Block: Spaceballs – Thursday, July 14th, 2016
Grants Block, 8:15 PM

Head to Grant’s Block this Thursday around sundown for Movies on the Block! This week, “Spaceballs” will be playing. Dine at a surrounding restaurant for dinner then settle into your blankets and chairs for the feature movie! Admission is free.
