The Providence Fringe Festival is presented by The Wilbury Theatre Groupin collaboration with WaterFire Providence, The Steel Yard and local partners throughout Providence. Fringe PVD has worked for almost a decade now to bring together over 300 performing artists from across the country to express their work through visual arts, dance, theater and everything in between.
Live music, dance, food, and visual art installations transform the city in a four-day, multi-arts take-over of public spaces, parks, and outdoor stages in the heart of Providence, Rhode Island. Providence is the Creative Capital and Mayor Jorge Elorza invites you to perform, create and sell with Providence’s own artistic talent. In its third year, PVDFest will expand to explore art education and public art installations, building on the success of the first two years of the festival.
The international Irish dance phenomenon is back by popular demand in RIVERDANCE – The 20th Anniversary World Tour. Drawing on Irish traditions, the combined talents of the performers propel Irish dancing and music into the present day, capturing the imagination of audiences across all ages and cultures in an innovative and exciting blend of dance, music, and song. Of all the performances to emerge from Ireland – in rock, music, theatre, and film – nothing has carried the energy, the sensuality, and the spectacle of RIVERDANCE.

Join artist and educator Eric Fulford as he returns to Wild Art! Each class will include a visit to the focus animal, where students will observe the animals’ unique adaptations and form before returning to the classroom to create their works of art. Classes run select Saturdays through June 2017. Themes include Fuzzy Red Pandas, Giraffe Mosaics, River Otter Paintings, Camel Cartoons and Tortoise Sculptures. Marco Polo’s adventure brought him face-to-face with the exotic animals of the Silk Road, and so will yours! Start by dining on a hot buffet, then after breakfast you’ll join zookeepers that care for the animals of Marco Polo’s Adventure Trek in opening for the day; climb into the bear exhibit to prep the space for its occupants, get face-to-face with a camel, see the snow leopards, red pandas, cranes and takin get their first enrichment of the day, and experience the thrill of watching the Zoo come alive.
At the Providence Children’s Museum. In this exhibit you will take a time-traveling adventure and meet real people who came to Rhode Island from many different countries. Hear their stories and find out why they came, what they brought and how they changed the Ocean State.
Located in the Museum of Natural History, the planetarium is a dome theatre which is only open during showtimes. Public planetarium shows are offered at 2pm every Saturday and Sunday. The Museum’s collections contains over one quarter million objects pertaining to natural and cultural history assembled from sites around the world.
