TroopTop Deck Brings Hoppy Vibes to the WaterFire Arts Center

NEW! #ArtonTap at the Troop-Top Deck on Thursday Nights at the WaterFire Arts Center.

Starting Thursday, April 1, 2021, visitors are invited to join us on the Troop-Top Deck for beer and wine from our neighbors at Troop PVD.

Each Thursday night the WaterFire Arts Center is open late until 8:00 p.m. Experience the current exhibit as the sun sets and head to the Troop-Top Deck starting at 5:00 p.m. (rain-or-shine, we’ll move inside if it rains) for beer and wine. Non-alcoholic beverages and an assortment of candy bars are also available in The Store at the WaterFire Arts Center.

Summer of Science TechFire – August 17th

Our Summer of Science series continues this Saturday, August 17th. WaterFire Providence is proud to present this years TechFire Job Fair and Technology Showcase. We are bringing together multiple up and coming tech companies in search of high tech job seekers.

This is the 2nd annual event featuring:

Enjoy guest speakers and a chance to network with professionals from established tech companies as well as startups. Be sure to bring an updated resume if you’re looking to be a part of one of these amazing teams.

About PVDFest

PVDFest is a non-profit production with over 60 businesses and organizations supporting its cause. Artists of all walks are at the center of this event, bringing the city to life. This years festival will showcase over 1000 artists on over a dozen platforms. PVDFest offers both acclaimed and emerging talent showcasing their diversity.

2019 Artists

With over 1000 artists being showcased, be ready to experience something new and unique on every corner. Artists range from singer/songwriters to mimes. With public art being a significant part of the weekend, be sure to keep an eye out for murals and art installations around the city. Head over to Salter’s Grove for a Fireworks Extravaganza this Saturday night. Between 9:00 Pm and 10:00 Pm, The Gaspee Days Committee  will hold a fireworks display set above Narragansett Bay and just off the coast of Salter’s Grove in Warwick.

Trinity Rep will hold its 23rd annual Pell Awards Gala on Monday, June 3rd at the The WaterFire Arts Center. Founded in 1997, the Pell Awards recognize artists whose work exemplifies the values of Senator Claiborne Pell.

Bastille Day Ceremony to Honor WWII Veterans – Friday, July 17th @ 6pm

In gratitude the Republic of France is awarding knighthoods in the French Legion of Honor to: John Dunnigan, Raymond Gillis, and Leo Héroux.

The ceremony will be performed by French Consul General Valery Freland accompanied by Rhode Island Honorary Consul to France Roger Begin in front of the Rhode Island World War II Memorial in Memorial Park in Providence, Rhode Island on Bastille Day, Friday, July 14th, 2017 at 6:00 PM.

Rose Weaver will sing The Star Spangled Banner and La Marseillaise. The Ceremony will conclude with a toast from a sabered bottle of Champagne presented by Robert Burke in honor of the RI veterans. Rise and Shine on the Farm at Roger Williams Park Zoo

COCK-A-DOODLE-DO! Join zookeepers in the Alex and Ani Farmyard for a special morning on the farm before the Zoo opens to the public. Enjoy a continental breakfast of bagels, muffins, fruit, yogurt, juices and coffee outside the Farmhouse, and explore the Farmyard as zookeepers get the day started. This event is “free-range,” so guests can go at their own pace to explore the many activities, including the cow milking, egg collection stations, and the produce growing and play station. Watch a sheep shearing demonstration, visit with a beekeeper, watch a farrier trim a donkey’s hooves  and even learn about worm composting with RI Worm Farmers Cooperative.
