Rhode Island, although only 37 miles wide and 48 miles long, boasts 400 miles of shoreline. The smallest state certainly lives up to its nickname “The Ocean State,” with a plethora of beautiful sandy beaches frequented by locals and tourists alike. Birds from Down Under – Thursday, August 11th, 2016
Roger Williams Park Zoo, 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM
Take a trip to Roger Williams Zoo to visit with more than 450 bird species native to Australia, including grass parakeets, cockatiels and various other parrot species. Each visitor will receive a seed stick and is free to feed the exotic birds while engaging in conversation about their habitats and the environmental challenges they face. Admission is an additional $3 to zoo admission.
PVD Ghost Tours – Thursday, August 11th-Sunday, August 14th, 2016
Prospect Terrace Park – 8 PM to 9:30 PM
Providence Ghost Tours are back for the summer. Join a lantern-led tour for a chilling walk through the darkened streets of the historic East Side of Providence. Listen to the stories about Providence’s haunted past!

PVD Fest is a festival that allows visitors to truly experience the creative, art-oriented city of Providence, Rhode Island. This multi-art, four-day festival completely transforms the city, taking place at historical and unique venues. Participating art installations, musicians/bands, restaurants, museums, libraries, etc. work together to create an event showcasing the best of the Creative Capital. All Full WaterFire installations light up over eighty braziers from Waterplace Park to Memorial/South Main Street Park on the below scheduled evenings.
