Sunday, April 27th
Providence Running of the Bulls, 10am
“Get Gored For Good!” Attend an event to raise funds for Amos House; the event is a run — with a twist! As you run along the two mile course, the Providence Roller Derby League will dress as bulls and chase you along the course. Celebrate surviving the bulls with an outdoor party, equipped with local food and live music.
CRAFTOPIA Spring 2014 Show, 10am
CRAFTOPIA is the areas premiere one-day craft show, with a reputation for festive atmosphere and the consistent quality of its vendors. CRAFTOPIA curates an eclectic mix of arts and crafts such as re-purposed clothing, original handbags, one-of-a-kind jewelry and accessories. In case that isn’t enough, there will also be a variety of food trucks outside.
The New England Family Fun Festival, 11am
The New England Family Fun Festival features live performances by musicians, dancers, martial artists, and gymnasts. There will be clowns, face painting, bouncy houses, and games — including prizes! There will also be opportunity for rich cultural experiences. This event is a great option for families on vacation, especially those on a budget.
SENE Film, Music, and Art Festival, 1pm
The day’s film screenings of the South Eastern New England Film Festival include a variety of short films and the documentary feature “The Bridgewater Triangle,” a film about the strange occurrences that take place in the triangular area between Abington, Freetown, and Rehoboth in Southeastern Massachusetts.

Alonzo King’s Lines Ballet, 7:30pm
Alonzo King’s San Francisco-based dance company will visit Rhode Island College to share their talent in contemporary ballet. King’s works draw on a diverse set of deeply rooted cultural traditions, imbuing classical ballet with new, expressive potential.
Wednesday, April 30th
Pawtucket Wintertime Farmer’s Market, 4pm
Quilted Together Group: Show and Reception, 5pm
This show will spotlight “The Recovery Quilt Project” which was created by the Quilted Together Group. The Recovery Quilt is a collection of 100 felt squares, each created by a person in recovery or someone who has a loved one in recovery, due to a drug or alcohol addiction. Each square tells a different story: of a teen in recovery, thankful for a second chance at life, of a father reunited with his family after a long struggle, or of a friend, who’s life was cut short due to the effects of addiction.
Celebration of Art in Rhode Island, 5:30pm
Celebrate the 3rd Anniversary of Art Connection by celebrating all of the art that Rhode Island has to offer. Awards will be offered to three well-deserving artists and art organizations. Come out to help honor these recipients, and enjoy entertainment, refreshments, and a cash bar.
Thursday, May 1st
Philip Levine Poetry Reading, 7pm
Philip Levine is the former Poet Laureate, and will be visiting the Moses Brown school. He will read poetry to students during the day, and will have a reading for the community at night. Levine is considered one of America’s great narrative and urban poets. His honors include the Pulitzer Prize, the National Book Award, the National Book Critics Circle Award, and the Wallace Stevens Award.
