SENE Film, Music & Arts Festival: Documentary Short Films, 7:00pm

SENE screenings will be held at the Warwick Museum of Art; the days screenings include Soldier in Art: Arthur Szyk, directed by James Ruxin, Late Shift, directed by Sigrun Matthiesen, Lyon Housemuseum, directed by Kerry Gardner, and Who Did It? The Clue VCR Game, directed by Frank Durant and Tim Labonte.

SENE Film, Music & Arts Festival: Music Docs, Music Videos, and Live Music, 6:00pm

This night of the SENE Festival is all about the music! Join us for music-centric documentaries, music videos, and live music. Narragansett Beer, wine, and snacks are all included in the price of admission.

The Gryphon Trio at Sapinsley Hall, 7:30pm

Rebecca Clarke, Charles Ives, and Maurice Ravel make up The Gryphon Trio. They have impressed international audiences with their dynamic performances and firmly established themselves as one of the world’s preeminent piano trios.

AIDS Project Rhode Island presents: Dining Out for Life

Dining Out For Life is a fun and exciting event in which participating restaurants donate a portion of sales for the day and night to AIDS Project Rhode Island. All you need to do is go out to eat at one of the participating restaurants on April 24th to help spread the word about HIV/AIDS in Rhode Island.

SENE Film, Music & Arts Festival: Limelight Party, 7:00pm

This night of the SENE Festival features an art exhibit, live jazz music, and the Limelight Awards. The Limelight Awards recognize leaders in the film, music, and arts communities of Southeast New England.

Friday, April 25th

SENE Film, Music & Arts Festival: Friday Film Screenings, 4:15pm

This evening of screenings will feature international short films, documentary shorts, the SENE American Showcase Narrative feature, comedy shorts, and horror features. All films will be shown at the Columbus Theatre.

Dark Matter by Meridian Project, 2:00pm

Dark Matter is a multimedia performance that explores cutting edge research in dark matter detection. Dr. Jeremy Chapman, a recent graduate of Brown University’s Particle Astrophysics Group, will discuss the latest development in dark matter research in combination with new music and video projections. The presentation will be complemented by the planetarium’s Zeiss star projector.

Saturday, April 26th

Walk4Wells Walk-a-thon, 8:30am

The Walk4Wells Walk-a-thon is all about YOU taking a walk to gather water, so that a young boy or girl doesn’t have to. The Walk-a-thon is a fundraiser to help Walk4Wells build wells in communities that desperately need them. This particular fundraiser will help build wells in Burkina Faso, a small nation in West Africa.

The Children’s Friend 5K Walk & Run, 8:30am

Join Children’s Friend and Panera Bread on Saturday to raise money for Rhode Island’s most vulnerable children through a 5K walk or run. There will also be live performances, arts and crafts, and food from Panera Bread!

Pawtucket Wintertime Farmer’s Market, 9:00am

Clean Day on the Greenway, 9:00am

The Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council is taking part in Providence Earth Day Spring Cleaning; local businesses will come together will come together with hundreds of volunteers to clean up the Woonasquatuket River and adjacent bike path. Projects include painting fences, weeding, mulching tree wells and plant beds, and ridding the river of debris.

The New England Family Fun Festival, 11:00am

The New England Family Fun Festival aims to bring a great time to every member of the family. The festival will feature interactive games, fitness, education and family fun, all in one. There will be live performances by dancers, musicians, magicians, and storytellers; there will be karate and gymnastics exhibits, clowns, face painting, dunk tanks, and so much more!

SENE Film, Music & Arts Festival: Saturday Afternoon Film Screenings, 11:00am

The afternoon screenings for the SENE festival will include short films from Hendricken High School, the young filmmakers program, the short film program, the animated short film program, the documentary feature program, and a filmmaker networking brunch.

Aerplaye Dance presents “In Full Flight”, 1:00pm

“In Full Flight” is a dance and theatre exploration of the wonders and worries of the modern frequent traveler. Featuring flying luggage, a tongue-in-cheek visit to the ‘golden age’ of air travel, intriguing in-air interviews, and the danced version of flying. This turbulent work is quite a ride, and following the performance, there will be a brief feedback period to benefit the evolving work.

SENE Film, Music & Arts Festival: Saturday Night Film Screenings, 5:00pm

This night of screenings for the SENE festival includes documentary features, LGBT short films, the American Showcase Narrative features, another short film program, the Regional Narrative Feature Spotlight, and a stand up comedy showcase.

DISCOurse #1: Pinup Opening Reception, 6:00pm

This body of work entitled DISCOurse, uses custom made reflective Mylar pegboard as the conductive substrate for other materials and objects such as smaller paintings, disco balls, digital prints, found photos, holographic tape, tube lights, pipe cleaners, leather, and chain to be attached and arranged.
